Facts about Technology Devices

USB

Who is not aware of the significant benefits a USB can give to people, in today's fast-moving world? USB of course, it stands for Universal Serial Bus. While USB means the industry standard, it is commonly used as the shorthand term for portable storage devices, especially memory sticks or 'pen drives.'

These are commonly used devices for the transportation of information from one device to another and have almost singlehandedly simplified the process of data transfer and overall have made life easier for us.  Transferring with today's technology takes far less time than previously, meaning that the user will often no longer need to wait very long for their data transfer to complete.  Also, it can be linked with a mobile device to move data to and from the devices.  So if we sum up, USB is nothing but an industry standard that defines cables, connectors and communication protocols for connection, communication, and power distribution between computers and devices. It has replaced earlier devices like serial and parallel ports as well as separate power chargers for mobile devices. It is currently developed by USB Implementers Forum and also standardises connection of computer peripherals to personal computers, laptops to communicate and provide electric power.

LAN

A local-area network (LAN) is a computer network that covers a relatively compact area.  Most often, a LAN is fixed to a single area, building or group of buildings; nonetheless, one LAN can be connected to other LANs over any distance via telephone lines and radio waves. By comparison, a WAN (wide-area network) covers a

sizable space more than compared to LAN and involves leased telecommunication circuits or internet links.  From these came the Internet, which in contrast, is a system of internationally connected business and personal computers. LAN connects several computers in a localised area such as an office or home. So, data communication occurs easily through LAN, and as such, it has revolutionised the entire computing world.

Printer

By the term printer, we usually mean a device which prints.  To provide the technical definition, we must state that the printer makes texts or graphics which we view on desktops, laptops and mobiles into printed formats, readable by the human eye. Nowadays it has become almost mandatory to provide printed forms of documents and other information in educational institutions, or while applying for anything, therefore the printer is needed to serve the purpose.  The widespread use and sale of the printer has made everyday life far more manageable.

These are only a few technology devices that we use day in and day out.  Like these, there are tons of technology devices which are utilised by everybody, either at the professional level or home for personal requirements.
